15,000 m2 AND MORE THAN 4,000 CAMELLIAS

Back in 1997 we started looking for the perfect site for growing camellias. The soil had to provide a series of characteristics in terms of acidity, fertility and salinity, key aspects in ensuring healthy growth.

We found the perfect location, in a healthy setting boasting an Atlantic climate in Carral, a town situated just outside the city of A Coruña.

The choice of varieties was another aspect we took particular care over, selecting those that offered optimum growing characteristics in terms of size, colour, fragrance and hardiness.

After a year’s work we had planted more than 4,000 camellias using traditional techniques on our plantation covering more than 15,000 m2.

22 VARIETIES OF CAMELLIA

Each stage of the growing process is carried out using traditional techniques passed down by our ancestors, guaranteeing optimum winter hardiness, health and strength during rooting and growth. In particular, these techniques ensure that the plants are less susceptible to stress, which is of vital importance when moving and planting them in other areas of Spain and Europe.

These are 22 varieties of camellia we grow:

Camelia japónica: Incarta, Do Pozo, Alba Delecta, Millarenga, Ciudad de Vigo, Cereixa de Tollo, Sangre de Pichón, Eugenia de Montigo, Bicolor, Adolfo Audusson, Jaspeada Doble, Mathotiana Blanca, Marguerite Govillon, Imbricate,  Crisantoña, Tercio Pelo and Lavinia Maggi.

Camelia híbrida: High Fragance.

Camelia x Williansii: Ballet, Queen Variegata and Rendezvous.

You can see all the different varieties in the AEC , an Spanish entity to wich we belong.
